doug's in maryland. at the same pilot where we had to stay at for three days. the place he was delivering to wasn't open on the weekends and we got there late friday night and camped out all weekend. we watched like a whole season of dead like me.
i asked him to get me a shotglass.
when we met up with him last saturday, he gave me a texas shotglass from the super fancy truck stop where we ate crocodile jerky.
the one he got me from north carolina is from the TA we broke down at and had to be towed out of. then we sat up for a weekend in a hotel room ;3

i kinda want to do an icon trade. i want to start drawing a little bit again but need extra motivation to pick up a pencil. plus i want icons :o but i'm not wholly confident in what my l33t skillz may produce cuz i'm so out of practice. so...yeah >.>

we ran into my cousin amelia! we went over to the information booth to get some information and she was working there, it was crazy. we talked for a minute and then went on our way, and this faerie walking towards us (that was actually talking to the people behind us) yells "it's so nice when family comes to visit!" we were like WHAT THE SHIT. no one's ever around to see this shit happen, go fig.

we're healing so differently, it's weird. they look completely different today. hers still has a lot of blood spots in it but it looks real smooth, and mine's already started to scab over and it's like, raised up. i wish the difference would show up better in pictures :P



oh, completely irrelevant question - does anyone have the string quartet tributes to the eagles and nickelback? doug would flip his shit, and i can't find them to download anywhere T_T

heather got the tip of a toothpick stuck in her foot the other day.
she was just walking in the living room and it jammed right in there, just perfect timing. the boys were apparently roasting marshmallows on toothpicks in the fireplace the other day. what the shit, that's not an appropriate roasting distance for 5 and 7 year olds. anyway, she couldn't get it out, but she also wasn't totally sure that there was still anything in there. she was trying to figure out if she needed to go to the doctor or not, but she's like "im gonna feel so stupid if i go up there and i have to wait around there all day and then there's nothing in there." anyway, nobody can afford to miss work in this country anymore so she went ahead in and worked 8 hours standing on that foot. it was sorta on the side of her foot, behind her big toe. but when she got home she was damn sure there was something in there now. it still didn't look too different, and the pharmacist told her to use this black oily goo that helped to draw out anything stuck under the skin. she put it on overnight, but the next morning she came and woke me up and asked me to go to the hospital with her. it was all red and swollen by now, so we went to the emergency room.
thankfully, we were in and out of that place in just a couple of hours, that was surprising. they took her back and sat her down and the nurses got her info, and the doctor showed up not 15 minutes later. he was kinda funny. he told her that he wasn't really sure that he'd be able to get anything out either. he was just letting her know, like, that he didn't mind looking around in there but before he stuck her with anything sharp and pointy, that he couldn't say what was in there or if it'd come out. but he numbed her foot up with that big long needle and prodded it for a minute before he opened up a scalpel, then he poked her with that, and pulled back and i actually heard like a "pop" as he yanked out the toothpick, that was stuck on the end of the scalpel. you could see the shock in his face, and then i'm like "OHMAGAWD." there was almost a quarter inch of toothpick point stuck in her freakin foot. like the whole point and a little bit of the like, shaft or whatever the middle of a toothpick would be called lol.
we should have asked to keep it, haha. i should at least have taken a picture of it. i have a picture of her bloody foot just for gross out factors though, so if you want to see, click here lol. it bled a lot more than that, that was just right after.
