alrighty everybody, we're in and safe :D working on getting settled in.
doug and i won't have his furniture till this weekend, so my stuff is still mostly boxed up and his stuff is mostly at his mom's house. but we have a bed and a tv so we're good. no cable, we haven't signed up for satellite yet. but the internet is working now, yaaay! it wasn't working and the technician came out this morning to fix it.
anyway, sooo many pictures will come. it's really quite amazing here :)

Omg Doug got the job! He starts monday. Ten hour shifts, mon-fri. $700 a week. Oh god, thank you thank you.

doug just called and said that his company called him and told him about an opening at the home depot distribution center close by. he's been trying so hard to get a dedicated run out of that place for about a year now.
anyway, there's a position opening up there soon, and it's not even for an on the road driver. they're taking on a new yard jockey. the guys that move the trailers around the DC and stuff. he would make $1400 salary every other week, and he would be home every day. ten hour shifts, home every day, a set income, this is a-freaking-mazing.
we're trying not to get our hopes up. but i've got to put this out there so we can get as many good vibes coming our way as possible.
keep your fingers crossed.

SO WE GOT A HOUSE 8D
it's awesome. it's huge. it's awesome.
3b/2bth, $750/month, 2 story, hardwood floors, huuuuge screened in back porch, animals are okay, pen and fence for hooch, virtually no yard or grass (which is awesome, fuck yardwork), doug's moving in too (omg<3) cuz they're so much room, angled ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms, huuuge closet in my room (like this closet is at LEAST half as big as my current bedroom), it's cute and kitschy, there's stained glass windows in the bathrooms, and a mysterious dead-bolted basement-type door under the deck with a big sign that says "DANGER: KEEP OUT". we forgot to ask about that. it's either dead bodies or a meth lab i bet. there's gotta be some catch. lol.
it's just amazing. i'll post a real entry about it soon.
our landlady is giving us the deposit and the pet deposit ($1250) because of the suddenness of losing the house. move in date's november 1st. i have the address, i'll post it in a trusted friends locked post later. i don't think anyone's sending anything right now, but anyway.
i have no idea how we're going to get heather and doug's huge shit up those stairs o.o
